Hi, I am looking for information on the Morris family of Emlagh, Castlereagh, Roscommon. In 1911 they lived in house #6 in Emlagh. The family consisted of Patrick and Ellen Morris and their children: John, Anne, William, Michael, Kate, Bridget, Margaret, James, Thomas and Timothy.
I know for sure that Kate (Catherine), Margaret (Peggy) and Thomas imigrated to America and settled in New York.
Kate married James Mc Cormack from Balinamuck, Longford and had five children: Helen, Mary (Marion), Thomas, Jimmy and Joanie.
Kate's sister, Bea, lived outside of Kilroosky with her son, Paddy Joe.
One of the brother's (Micheal) had a son who was called Canon Vincent Morris. He was a priest in St. Mary's Church in Castleblayney, Monaghan.
I would love to hear any news about any of the other of the Morris family.
My grandmother is Kate but when she came to America she called herself Catherine,

Dont know if you are interested in tracing back in time, but just in case ..... based on the Civil BMD Index, and free index on RootsIreland, I believe Ellen's maiden names was Beirne, she and Timothy married in the first quarter of 1885 in Carrick-on-Shannon district and references are Volume 3 / Page 68. You can use the references to order a research marriage cert from the GRO, which will show more details, date and place or marriage, father's names etc. Carrick-on-Shannon registration districts covers parts of counties Leitrim and Roscommon.
The marriage took place in the Catholic Parish of Annaduff with Ellen's name listed as Eleanor, and the parish is located in the south west of the county and also borders Co. Roscommon.
