Seeking information about my great grandmother, Mary Bridget Guilfoyle, born around 1827 in County Sligo. She married Joseph O'Reilly, who was born in Galway. They had a son, John B. O'Reilly, born in Dec. of 1853 in Springfield, townland of Lakeview in Tawnagh Parish in Barony, County Sligo. By 1857 they had emigrated to the States and settled in Chicago, Illinois where they had a large family. Any information will be much appreciated - Coley 34

Miriam - Thanks so much - their descendants are Catholic so I assume they were as well - may've been married in Co. Galway or in Co. Roscommon - my Grandmother went to a Misses Golding Seminary School in 1841 in Galway. She also did a sampler when she was in Honoria Hurley's Castlerea School (undated). - Coley34
