I have been researching my 2 x great grandfather Hugh (Hugonis) Healy who was born in 1829. In census in the UK it states he was born in Tipperary, though Sligo is mentioned with his wife on another census.
The reason i have come to Tawnagh parish is due to a baptism I found on Family Search for a Hugonis Healy baptised on 18th March 1830 at the local Catholic Church. He died in Sandbach, Cheshire where all his children were born.
I wonder if this is him. My Hugh married a Ellen (Helena) Barry or Berry between 1849 and 1854 when their first son was born. I have never found any shipping for them to England single or as a couple. I have not been able to find their marriage in England either.
The photo attached is my Great Grandfather William Healey, though it may help with any likeness.
Any help would be most welcome.

Hi Elizabeth
I searched www.rootsireland.ie/ for Hugh & Hugonis Helay 1829 + - 5 years
There are no Hugonis records but a few Hugh records
There are none in Tipperary but 2 in Sligo 1 1830 & 1 1834
1 is from Sligo RC parish & the other from Riverstown RC
In the list of parishes on the site it has Tawnagh (Riverstown) C of I but no Tawnagh RC which suggests to me that Riverstown RC includes Tawnagh RC & it is the 1830 which is from there
rootsireland charges to view the recods but it MAY have his parents' names

Elizabeth,
There are no shipping records for journeys between Ireland and England. (A journey that in the 1800s was a short domestic journey anyway). Passenger lists generally only exist for intercontinental journeys eg England to Australia.

Hi ColCaff and Ahoghill
Thank you very much for your replies.
Colcaff thanks for looking for Hugh, I am thinking i must be on the right track since there are only two born around the time i need for him.
I will have a go on rootsireland and see if the names match those on the baptism i found.
Ahoghill, i did wonder if it was considered a to short journey, worth a try asking anyway.
Thankyou both
Elizabeth
