  • Lisa:

In case you do not have the 1901 and 1911 census records for the family, I listed them below. The 1911 census indicates that they had 3 living children as of 1911. I looked for a death index record for Michael with no success. I did find a probable death index record for Mary in 1914.

  • Hi Lisa - I've been searching for my Gray ancestors for years.  We may have a connection.  Here's my info:  1) Bridget Gray (b. ca 1818 in Sligo, probably in Dernaskeagh, Toomour) married 1st ___ McGlynn.  She was widowed and then married Peter McGovern ca 1850-1852, who was also a widow.  2)  Peter and Bridget "Biddy" Gray McGovern lived in Corhuber, Ballymote, Emlaghfad after marriage.  3)  Bridget was very likely a sister to Denis Gray of Cluid, Ballymote and James and Michael Gray, probably of Dernaskeagh.  She was also related to Samuel Gray, who married Margaret O'Connor in Keash in 1918.  Do you think there's any possible connection?  Larry O'Keefe (LOKeefe@aol.com)

  • Hi, I see this is an old thread but I am David Gray. My paternal Grandad is Donald Gray. He was listed in the 1911 Census as a two month old baby of Michael and Marie Gray. I believe Michael is the son of Michael b. 1834 and Mary listed in the opening post.

  • Hello David and all. My name is James Regan. My family is descended from the Dernaskeagh Regans. John Regan who is in the 1858 Griffith valuation is my gggrandfather. Domnick Regan in the 1901 census was his son. He was related to the Colemans by marriage.  I'm also related to the Kielty's, Kavanys, Hunts, Daveys and Corcorans from that area. Pleased to make your acquaintance.

    James
