I am searching for any information about my 3rd Great Grandmother, Mary Murphy and her family. Mary was convicted of the murder of Walter Burke. The murder took place on 17th April 1829. Her father (John), mother (Margaret) and sister (Honora) were convicted of conspiracy to murder. Two other men, John Dunworth and Lawrence Lynch were also convited of the same murder. They were executed but Mary was 'respited' and transported to NSW on Hooghey in 1830 - 1831. Her brother, James Murphy had been executed for the murder of Timothy Neill on the same night.
Any information about the murder or the family would bge very much appreciated.
Kind Regards

I have found further information which shows that John and Margaret Murphy (Mary's parents) were executed for conspiracy to murder.

The murder took place at Ballinahinch or Ballyanhinch. Different newspaper articles splet the place differently. All I now is the trial took place at Limerick Assizes in March 1830. Executions of Dunworth and Lynch took place on 17th March 1830. James having been convicted at Summer Assizes had been executed earlier.
