Hello from Australia My Matthew Ryan married Julia Tobin whose parents were Michael Tobin and Bridget Murphy . I do not knw when or where they were Born or Married but think Michael Tobin lived Ballinlough West ( Griffiths Valuation ) . Thier 5 children Bridget 1831--Catherine 1833---Mary 1835---Ellen 1837--Julia 1840 were baptised in the Bansha Cathilic Church . . Catherine was rebaptised 1844 for the wrong Mother was shown , and the family was in in London by the 1851 census , but no Matthew for the mother was described as a widow , Can anyone help with the death of Matthew or any information on these families . Please

Hi Laurie, The headstone inscriptions for some of the graveyards in the Parish of Bansha/Kilmoyler are on www.historicgraves.ie. Also if you google the parish there is amazing material on Tipperary GenWeb, Did you get the baptisms on the new www.registers.ie website if not, could you doublecheck and maybe you could get an address.
Let me know if you have any questions

Hi Laurie, through coincidence I have just gone through the same baptisms today. I noticed a Matt Ryan and Julia Corcoran had a child Mary Ryan baptized Aug 20 1842 there. I was looking at your family because I am descended from a Matthew Herene, whose daughter Mary - who used the name Herene or Hereene in london was from Tipperary and we know her father's name was Matthew Herene or similar. Accordingly I had obtained death certificates for Matthew Herene and his wife Mary Herene both in Bansha 1886 without knowing if they are her parents. I have not found Herenes in the Bansha baptisms. But of interest, our Mary born 1842 approximately was illiterate and on one of the RC baptisms of her children in london, her maiden name is noted as O'Ryan. A relative has suggested it may have been mispelled on the others and other places, due to pronounciation and her illiteracy. Thus I am interested in Ryans and the 1851 census you found since we cannot be sure of the Herene name. I would appreciate the census information. I am also looking for graves of that Mathew Herene and Mary in 1886 in Bansha, but have not yet searched the website suggested by Christine. I had found a census in 1851 which may be Mary Herine in London, but it is inconclusive. Please reply so we may compare notes. Thanks, Janice
Ms. Herene

Christina Just read your message , Yes we can get a little info to whet our appertite but not all to satisfy our thirst for aanswers , As I said the mother Julia Ryan nee Tobin was a widow in the London census , It would seem a lot of Irish went to London because of the famine On Ancestry we have a James Lavery with the death of Husband Matthew Ryan as 1846 , which was the start of the Irish Famine , Unfortunately James will not answer my Ancestry messages . I just wonder why people put up their families and do not want to communicate , I think The Tobins were from Ballinlough West which incorprratates part of the Bansha Town . My email is loch1929@gmail. com and would love to talk further . Warm regards Laurie
