John HORAN born about 1797 Clonoulty, Rossmore (Reg Clon TY 32y) married Margaret LONERGAN (Margaret Horan shows in Griffith Valuations at Demone - house, office and land - tenant of John Greene Esq.  John Horan may have been transported or died during the famine? Parents of -

1. THOMAS LONERGAN HORAN convicted 1837 transported to Australia for Life on Neptune 2.

2. PATRICK HORAN born about 1820 died 4 Sep 1854 Clonoulty, Kilnemanagh. Inquest simple examination by William Clarke found Rupture of blood vessel Reported by Head Constable J. Bergin.at Clonoulty, Kilnemanagh

3. MICHAEL HORAN born  about 1822 ...he may have been transported in 1837 for stealing a cow and transported on Neptune 2 with odler brother Thomas.

4. JOHN HORAN born  about 1819 Demone.  Married Mary Tuite  1862 emigrated to Australia and..died 1900 Albury NSW (see below)

John HORAN of Demone married Mary TUITE on 27 Nov 1862 Clonoulty/Rossmore Rgister. They were married by the Rev. James O’Carroll in the presence of William Harney and Alice Cleary (Demone) prior to emigrateing to Australia on the Queen of the Colonies arriving Moreton Bay, Qld Australia in Jan 1863. with issue:

1. John Horan born 1864 Ipswich Qld.  Dairy FArmer and Milk Vendor died  unmarried in 1936 Albury NSW.
2. Margaret Mary Josephine Horan born c1867 Jimbour Qld died 1922 Petersham Sydney NSW married d1915 Joseph Harrington (he enlisted a few months later and was killed in action in France). No issue
3. Thomas Patrick Horan born 1869 Tootgarook, Vic. died 1924 Coogee, Sydney NSW (Customs Officer NSW) married Minnie Spehrs with issue
4. Timothy Augustus Horan born 1870 Tootgarook Vic. died 1946 Albury NSW (Furniture Arcade Owner & Imporfter) married three times no issue.  Outlived all his family including two of his three wives.
5. Michael Joseph Horan born 1872 Tootgarook Vic. died 1938 Newcastle NSW (Customs Officer VIc & NSW) married Charlotte Waite with issue
6. James Matthew Horan born 1873 Tootgarook Vic died 1898 Albury NSW (Clerk, Mates Department Store) died unmarried of Typhoid no issue
7. Patrick William Horan born 1876 Tootgarook Vic died 1919 of Spanish Flu at Kensington Sydney NSW (Racehorse Trainer & Owner) married Beatrice Kuhn (sister of famous Kuhn Jockeys)  no issue

Mary TUITE (TUIT) was born 1833 (Reg. Nenagh) daughter of  TIM (Timothy) TUIT (TUITE ) of Curraghduff - Killoscully - Ballinahinch) AND  Judy (Judith Johanna) RYAN   TUITE is a rare name in co  TIPPERARY...  usually found in Co. MEATH.  Some descendants have used HEWITT in lieu of TUITE but the name TUITE is the correct name.
