I'm searching for the marriage and parents of Alice Neville b about 1790 who married Patrick Carroll about 1813. They were farmers in the Lisronagh, Milltown area and had 11 children baptized in the St. John the Baptist Catholic of Powerstown, between 1815 and 1835 I have not been able to find their marriage, but am assuming they may have been married in the Fethard Parish, since they were not married in the Powerstown Parish.. Any help would be appreciated. Carol

Carol:
Fethard RC records go back to 1806, however, Roots Ireland does not have the records for Fethard so you may need to contact the church.
You may want to look at the Tithe listings www.titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie
There are a number of Patrick Carrolls including a few which show a townland of Milltown.

Thanks for the information. So sorry I didn't thank you before. Do the parish priests usually get back to you when you ask for information? I was assuming they couldn't be bothered. Also I have another question. Do you know where Tinrush townland is in Fethard or Killusty area? My ggrandmother Bridget Carey b. 1828 to William Carey and Catherine Nagle of Tinrush, was born there, along with other children. The family emigrated to the US in 1849 Thanks Carol

Carol:
Some parish priests get back to you many do not. They are stretched very thin and many cases do not have time to help out people searching families.
I think I responded to your question on Tinrush last night on another message??

Dear Carol:
Are you still searching for the Nevilles of Fethard. I have a probable relative Alice Neville Ryan or Alice Ryan Neville who came from that area. I would like to contact with you if you are interested. Richard Carroll

Hi Richard,
Yes I am still searching for info on the Carroll and Neville families. I would love to hear about your Carroll and Neville families. I do have a missing Richard Carroll , born 1833 to Patrick and Alice Neville Carroll who was baptized in the St. JOhn the Baptist Catholic Church in Powerstown Parish. The other children born to them were Patrick, 1819, Mary 1817,Anthony (my ggrandfather, 1821, Denis 1823, Michael 1826, John 1829, Ann 1831, and James 1835. In the Tithes their place was Baptist Grange and the Griffiths it was Miltownbrittin. But they seem to be the same place/ Denis Carroll was a s sponsor for one of the children and lived next to to them. I am assuming they were brothers. Looking forward to hearing from you
Carol
