I am looking for any information on the Heffernans in Gortnahoe circa 1770 onwards - Humphrey Heffernan - (born 1770) married Anstace ( Anastacia) Ryan (born 1775) in Killenaule, Tipperary in 1794 - there children were Richard born 1806 / Thomas born1808 / James born 1812 / Humphrey born? / Patrick born 1815 (all born in Gortnahoe / except Patrick born in Ballynonty) - I ws wondring if I could find out where they wer married in Killenaule - if a church - if its still standing / I also wanted to find out where they lived in Gortnahoe and Ballynonty - I am planning a visit / James and Patrick were transported to Australia for manslaughter in 1835 and I have the details of their lives here but would love to find out any information on the lives / descendants of the other siblings - I guess I would love to find out any information really / any help would be appreciated,

Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
I located the baptismal records for Richard, James and Thomas on Find My Past but none of the records showed a townland location. Could not locate a record for Humphrey or Patrick anywhere in Co. Tipperary.
I also checked the Tithe listings for Tipperary from the 1820s and could not find a Humphrey Heffernan record.
You mention Ballynonty. I can't locate a townland or parish with that name. Can you let us know where you located that place name?
Here is some background on the RC church in Killenaule http://www.killenaule.net/history-2/churches/st-marys-church/
Please consider adding your ancestor stories to our XO Chronicles site https://www.irelandxo.com/ireland-xo/history-and-genealogy/ancestor-dat…

Humphrey Junior was baptized at Gortnahoe 17 Dec 1815, son of Humphrey Heffernan and Anastasia Ryan
I cannot find the entry for the marriage at Killenaule in 1794.... do you have the exact date?
I have info regarding sons Thomas and Richard
Regards
Michael

I forgot to add:
The baptism entries at Gortnahoe indicate Humphrey was a "Lickfinn Collier"
Therefore, they lived at Lickfinn, where Humphrey worked as a miner.
