Patrick Moore, born in Tipperary in June, 1848, was baptized at Gortnahoe.  His parents are listed as James Moore and Bridget Purcell of Inchirourke.  The witnesses of his baptism were Richard Purcell and Mary Byrne.  

Patrick left Ireland in the 1870s and settled in Kendaltown, Lafayette County, Wisconsin.  He worked in the lead mines.      

In 1886 he married Ellen McGuire, daughter of James McGuire and Ellen McCluskey, both immigrants from Ireland.  The witnesses of the marriage were Julia Fox and John Coogan.    

Patrick and Ellen Moore had eight children, including Rose, 1893-1978.   They lived in various towns in Wisconsin, including Cuba City, Kendaltown, Darlington, New Diggings, and Seymour.  

Patrick died at Darlington, Wisconsin, in 1922.   Ellen died in 1928.   Both are buried in Holy Rosary Cemetery in Darlington.   

I would like to know more about Patrick Moore's parents, James and Bridget.  I believe they had a daughter Mary, also baptized at Gortnahoe in the 1850s.  I think Bridget Purcell Moore died at Thurles, Kilkenny.

    I searched on the subscription site FindMyPast.ie and found four additional baptismal rrcords for children of James Moore and Bridget Purcell:    Richard 1841 Ellen 1843 John 1846 Mary 1856. It is possible there were other children between Patrick and Mary. NOTE: the transcription for John's record shows mother was Bridget Dricol but the actual entry on the parish register indicates Bridget Purcel.
