I would greatly appreciate any help finding out more about my 3rd great grandparents. I have found a record of their marriage on ancestry.com. it states, Patrick Quinn and Eleanor Crowe both of Emly married 04Mar1821. On rootsireland I have 2 son being born to them; James 1825 and Andrew 1830. I have 27 of my 32 3rd great grandparents being born in southern Ireland. I very much wish to visit sometime soon but I would like to have as much information as I can before coming over. Any nugget that you may pass on would be great. Thank you, Edwin Power

Hi Edwin . . .
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out . . . and Tipperary County . . . .
Not sure how we can further your search . . . you appear to have a well researched Tree . . . from searching Roots / Ancestry . . .
So these are the search engines . . we would favour using . . when searching for clients . . .
__________________________________________________________
First I search . . . for other people . . researching this client . . . and found . . .
https://www.ancestry.com/family-tree/person/tree/51484169/person/192068069219/facts
Within this tree . . . you will find lots of supporting info.
One immediate difference . . Location . . for Eleanor . . . Cath.Wexler . . says the Birthplace is " Emly " . . you indicate " Thurles " ???????????
In those years . . before popular transport . . . there is a rather big gap . . . check Google maps .
________________________________________________________________________
You find on Ancestry . . . the Birth of James (1826) . . EMLY . . . . . to Patr.Quinn - El.Crowe
______________________________________________________________________
If " Emly " is the homeplace of both . . . then . . I searched " Griffiths Valuation " a TAX roll from 1847 . . . yhe name " Quinn "
Here you have lots of " Quinn;s " . . . but how to seperate them . . . ???
_________________________________________________________________
I had a look at the National Census of 1901 . . . . for the families of Quinn . . in Emly . . .
again . . . lots of Quinns . . . no way of seperating them . . .
___________________________________________________________________________
There is a professional service available to tracing in Tipperary . . . at. . .
https://www.tipperarycoco.ie/heritage/genealogy-centre
Not cheap !!
______________________________________________________________________________________
Nothing here of much help to you . . . but . . that far back . . . proves diffacult . . .
Best I could do . .
Best of good wishes . . . to your future trip to Ireland . . . and continued search,
Cheers . . Eamonn

Hi,
The marriage...right hand page where you see 5, it's the entry above.
https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632708#page/133/mode/1upLooks like the Quinns lived in Emly Town
http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/reels/tab//004587439/00…
I cannot see Crowe's in Emly, but CROW
On the marriage a Jeremiah Crow was a witness. He is listed.
http://titheapplotmentbooks.nationalarchives.ie/search/tab/results.jsp?…
The birth of James and Andrew, as the month wasn't stated, sorry but this is where you will look to find the sponsors.
Or...... if you are in Ancestry you may be able to pick them up, then look to the right for the dates.
https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000632708#page/1/mode/1upEdwin, you say you are going to visit.......
The name of the person who left Ireland, what year and where did they go, would help to pick up other information.

Thank you all, so very much. I see I have a lot of follow up to do. I hoped for a nugget and you came through in a big way. I am almost 70 and I still work full time as a custom furniture fabricated. So my Saturday is to fuel my genealogy addiction. I have Taber, Weekes, Luther, Wings and Bassett, all seeming to go back forever (1500s right now). That just makes me resolve to push as hard as I can on all my Irish fore father's. Enough for now. I will report back and again THANK YOU.

Hello,
I haven't read all this thread because of the website style of display
I have records of a Michael Crowe = Quinn with several kids in Emly between 1812 and1831? Please send me an email to seamuscrowe@protonmail.com and I will give you the dates if they are useful?
