Ryan's from Foilnacanna

My grandfather was Patrick Ryan, Foilnacanna, he was born about 1860. His father was Michael Ryan and his grandfather was John Ryan all of Foilnacanna in the civil parish of Upperchurch and the RC parish of Kilcommon. All are buried in Upperchurch cemetery.

Great to make contact with a Ryan from Foilnacanna. From the research I have done there were only 6 families living there in 1901 and three of them were Ryan's. John and Margaret Ryan no children,  John & Joanne Ryan with a family of at least six children: Mary, Cornelius, Patrick, John, Bridget and Joanna, and Norah (widow) with at least 5 children, Johanna, Patrick, James, Margaret and Michael. 

Are there headstones in Upperchurch for your Ryan family and can you tell me the name of your grandmother or g grandmother.

I am rarely on here.

My family are No 4 on the foilnacanna list.

We are closely related to the Family at No 6 on the list who orifinally were two brothers and who split the farm between them around 1850. I can send you some more data by Email. You can see this on Griffiths Valuation.

The family of Cornelius Ryan are still in Foilnacanna and I met them at my uncle's funeral last year.
