Hi I am trying to figure out why Tipperary Research Center sent me info on ancestor marriage (se below) and it doesn'r list the parent's names on it.They told me when I was checking into their services that it would. So I emailed the church( on 2 different occasions) for futher info on this marriage and never heard back.I cannot afford overseas calls(I live in Indiana,USA).Any advice? Also it states bride's address as Knockanglass-is that a district? I have never heard of it?

Knockanglass is a townland which is the smallest land division in Ireland. There is a Knockanglass townland in Killenaule civil parish so likely that is where she was from.
It is very likely that an 1823 marriage would not show the parents names.
Priests were not required to capture the parents names back in 1823..
Later this summer the National Library of Ireland plans to place all RC parish registers online for free searching. I would search the Killenaule parish register at that time.

All parishes whether RC, Church of Ireland, Presbyterian etc kept records of baptismal and marriage records conducted in the parish. These records are commonly known as a register. If you look at your 1823 marriage record above, you will see it mentions the Killenaule parish register.
Parish records start at different times based on when churches were founded and many early records for churches were lost. You will also find that parish registers will have gaps where records for a period of time were lost.
When the NLI implements this new service you will have to look at each parish individually e.g. Killenaule to search for ancestors. There will be no central summary of all records.
Here is the link to the NLI site. http://www.nli.ie/

ok so if u know what church that u want to ask baptism/marrieage questions-u find out what parish that is in and go online and search the library records from there?

The parish records will be sorted by Diocese and Killenaule will be in the Archdiocese of Cashel and Emly. You find the register for your parish and start searching. Some qualifiers: you are looking at the actual register and priest handwriting may be illegible in spots, some older records are in Latin so you will need to figure out the Latin translation of the first name and as I mentioned before there may be gaps,
