Hello :)
Looking for any record of my great-great-grandmother and her family:
She is Mary Ann Parrington, b. Thurles about 1836. Also used her mothers name Landers. She emigrated to Australia as Mary Landers on the Tornado in 1855, and married George Hogg as Mary Ann Landers in the Presbyterian Church /Church of Scotland in Melbourne in 1856. She died in 1916 in Melton, Victoria.
Mother Eliza LANDERS (also sp. Landus and Landau), I have no other details on her.
Father PARRINGTON seems to have used different names: I have documentation of him as Edward and also Crawford James. Other family members also seem to have him using Abraham or David. He was a farmer.
Their other children were:
> Crawford (also known as James and John) b.1831.
Married Margaret O'Donnell (1831-1906).
Had 3 children in Thurles: Eliza/Elizabeth 1861, Mary 1863 & John 1865.
Emigrated to Aust 1866 & d.1893.
> Michael b.1832. Emigrated to Aust 1865. Also used the name Landers.
> William b.1834. I have no other details on him.
> Margaret b.1843. Emigrated with brother Michael in 1865. Also used the name Landers.
> Patrick b.1847. I have no other details on him.
Mary Ann's father might be Abraham Parrington? In Griffiths 1850, he is in Ormond Upper barony, Nenagh Union, Templederry parish, Gorteenavalla townland. Seems to have emigrated toAust in 1865.
There is also a Crawford J Parrington b. 1812 - he & Abraham might be brothers? He seems to have emigrated from Gertbenvally (?) or Kilnaneave to New York in 1851. There may be another brother William, around Gurtheenanolla - I have no other details.
Their father might be John Parrington, also called Crawford, b.1780, and mother Margaret. He may have brothers Thomas and Gabriel.
Any help unravelling Mary Ann's family tree would be appreciated :)
Many thanks, Beck.

Hi Beck
The only birth / baptism record of Mary Parrington in Tipperary c 1836 on www.rootsireland.ie/ is a baptism: 4 Mar 1846 TEMPLEDERRY R C parish
Parents Abraham Parrington & Mary Canny
Informants William Parrington & Honor Burke
I found 2 siblings of Mary's: William 1844 & Eliza 1853
I couldn't find a marriage record of Abraham & Mary or birth records of Crawford or Abraham.
I had a look on www.irishgenealogy.ie/ for Parringtons and found that a Crawford Parrington was a sponsor at the baptism of Susan Maria Dolan in Dublin 1860.
findmypastireland might be an option for you; it requires credit to be purchased Euro9.95 = $12.33US for a month) There are lots of CRANFORD & CRAWFORD Parrington Tipperary records there as well as some Abrahams. They are all courts and legal records so could be interesting!

Thanks for your quick reply Col - much appreciated.
I am very certain that Eliza Landers is my Mary's mother, so this is probably not my Mary.
I am far from sure that Abraham is my Mary's father though - he could be her uncle. This find of yours would seem to suggest that too, wouldn't it?
It also connects Abraham & William, which helps. I am pretty certain William is not my Mary's father either.
I have another cousin here in Aust that is really chasing this line & I will pass your find onto him.
I have also found a Crawford & Ellen Parrington on the 1834 Tithe Applotments for Templederry (Gurtbenvally), and in 1842 Nenagh Union relief rates show Abraham and a Margaret (not together) in Gorteenavalla, a William in Clohinnch, and a John, James and Abraham in Castle Otway.
It's like a giant jigsaw puzzle, but I appreciate your help in trying to put it together.
