Hello Kilkenny,
I am back with more information on my Kilkenny family from Church Baptism Record purchased from rootsireland.
Bridget Walsh ( my great great grandmother) was baptised 4 Aug 1840. Her address is given as Cashil
Parish/District BALLYHALE Co Killkenny. Roman Catholic. Father William Walsh mother Ellen Fitzpatrick.
sponsors Andrew walsh and Ann Fitzpatrick.
On rootsireland index I also found her 4 siblings, Mary1835, Edward (Edmund on baptism)1839, Catherine 1837 and Michael1842, who were all named on their Mother's death certificate in Vic Australia in 1894.
I have been unable to find an entry to Australia record but Ellen arrived about 1862 ( with Bridget and not sure about other children) and was in South australia for 1 year before coming to Victoria. She was a widow and remarried here. I presume William Walsh died in Ireland sometime between 1842 and 1862.
I would appreciate any information about this family or contact from other members of this family.
Cheers
Annette

I now have a little more info on my ancestors William Walsh and Ellen Fitspatrick. One of the daughters Mary stayed in Ireland and married Thomas Fanning. They had eight children and 2 daughters married into Reade and Grady families. a lot of the baptisms are in Knocktopher.
