My great grandfather was James Hughes, baptized Nov. 6th, 1842 at Clonfeacle. His parents were Michael Hughes and Anne Teague. They married at Clonfeacle, Dec. 27th, 1841. The witnesses were James Hughes and Thomas McSherry.
James had several siblings, Ellen, John, Mary Ann, Michael and Peter, all baptized after him, between 1845 and 1855 also at Clonfeacle. Much of the family emigrated to Glasgow in the 1860s-1870s period.
Anne Teague was baptized Apr. 7, 1816, Ballycullan Parish, her sister Mary was baptized Apr. 2, 1820 at Clonfeacle. Their parents were John Teague and Bridget (or Elizabeth?) Connelly (sp?). I have no further info' on John and his wife, nor their daughter Mary.
Anne Teague died in Glasgow in 1886, but all I know about Michael Hughes is that he was dead before the marriage of his son James in Glasgow in 1873.
I believe I have included all I know about this piece of my family tree puzzle. Anything else occurred in Glasgow.

Welcome to ireland Reaching Out!
Clonfeacle parish is in the Dungannon registration district. Civil registration for deaths began in 1864. I searched on www.irishgenealogy.ie which is a free site looking for Michael Hughes death records from 1864-1872 in the Dungannon district. I found two records that are possible leads. Images for death records are available from 1891-1921 for Northern Ireland. We anticpate that the earlier images from 1864-1890 will be made available possiblyby the end of the year. I would wait until the images are available to see if one of the two records pertain to your ancestor. The other option is to write to the General Register Office and get a copy for around four euros each.

Thanks for reply Roger! If and when I am able to access these records, what information will be included that might allow me to conclude that this is "my" Michael Hughes? Neil

The key piece of information would be the informant. If it shows Anne Hughes (wife) from Clonfeacle as the informant then there is a good chance you have the correct Michael.
Below is a link to a page with ten death records so you can see the info provided. You will have to sign in to see the page.

Thanks Roger. Too bad the spouses' maiden names weren't included, that would have been ideal. Neil
