    Do you have any information on James McKenna's year of birth and when he died?

  • Roger;

    Unfortunately no. The only family records we have are about his son Francis who married Catherine McGrath and on to myself. The marriage records indicate James wife was Mary Curran.

    Was Francis born in Ireland and what year? Did he marry Catherine in Ireland?

  • Roger;

    I spoke with a relative of mine and he tells me that Francis McKenna actually married a Mary Ann Gaittens whereas Catherine whose maiden name was Mullin married Patrick McGrath. He also said that on Francis marriage record it shows his father James as a land stewart. I searched the Griffith Valuation Lists and found 2 James McKenna's in Clonfeacle. The first showed the townland of Angasna Glebe and the second the townland of  Drumgose. Are you related to either the McKenna's or the McGrath's?

    Regards,

    Michael

    No, I'm not related to the McKennas or McGraths. I'm a volunteer for Ireland Reaching Out. I'm a parish liaison for a couple parishes in Co. Roscommon but I also look at the messages and help people who are trying to connect their family back to Ireland. There are 4-5 of us who look at all the messages and provide assistance when we can. I live in the USA. Good luck with your research. Have you tried Ancestry?
