I am looking for any information on my gtgtgrandfather John Thompson, who was married to Mary Ann McWhirter. I have found reference to them in the County Tyrone Householders Index for 1860, which says he was a tenant on the land of a John Lindsey in Moree, Parish Desertcreat. The areage was 11 acres 0 rods 30 perches. Thank you.

Hi Col, again thank you so much for that information. It is very kind of you to give your time. I've now got another name of William McWhirter, who was a witness at the wedding. Maybe he was Mary Anne's brother? I seem to have hit a bit of a brick wall going further back with John and Mary Anne's parents William and Mary ((Mooney) Thompson and Joseph McWhirter (no mother's name), but will keep trying! Kind regards, Carole
