Hi everyone, I am looking for a CLARKE family from County Tyrone. Thomas Clarke was born around 1797 as we know he fought in "The battle of Waterloo". Rebecca was born 1815 in County Derry. They married in 1833. They had 4 sons born in 1840,1842, John born 1844, and William born 1850. Rebecca came to New Zealand with sons John & William in 1865 on the Dauntless, for the Waikato Immigration Scheme. We don't know what happened to Thomas, presume he died before hand. They settled in Tuakau, Auckland. Rebecca died in August 1890 Tuakau and her 4 sons were still alive, according to the death certificate. I am a descendent of William. I just wonder if the other 2 sons stayed in Ireland. Thomas was a farmer. William & John farmed in Tuakau AKL NZ. Thanks.

I am looking for my ancestors by the name of Clarke. Thomas Clarke was born between 1811 as the earliest I have found and up to 1820. I believe he was born about 1815. He married Mary Hynes, born about 1820 - 1822. They had a son named James before they emmigrated to Canada and settled on a farm near Arthur, Ontario, Canada where they had more children. Their names besides James were Thomas Clarke who married Susan Armstrong, Michael Clarke - single (?).Patrick Clarke who remained single? Mary Clarke, married Charles Williamson. Bridget Clarke who married John Boyle from Donegal in Northern Ireland? Ellen Clarke who was single. These Clarke's mostly lived in and around the Arthur, Fergus, Mt. Forest area of Ontario Canada and were buried around this area also.
I haveno idea where abouts in Ireland we originated from but County Cork had been mentioned by my father while we were young but not sure of this.

Thomas was married to Elizabth Brown. They emigrated to Canada abt 1846 . They has 7 or 8 Children. They farmed outside of Ottawa Ontario where they are buried. They lived in Fethard-on-sea in Ireland. I believe an Alan Clarke operates an Inn there but I am unable to contact him to see if he is related to the Clarkes in Canada. There appear to be other Clarkes living in that area.
I have an extensive family tree of the Canadian Clarkes but am unable to find any connection to the Thomas Clarke family in Ireland other than they lived in Fethard-on-sea at one time.
