Unfortunately, it may be difficult to find information without a more specific place of origin. Most Irish record sources- church records, land records, census records- are based on specific locations. Until you know a specific location within Ireland, preferably a parish or placename, it may be difficult to do anything more with these records.

Do you have any documentation pertaining to the family that mentions any place names in Tyrone at all? This can include wills, marriage/death records,census records, letters, diary entries etc.

Have you tried searching for the family at www.familysearch.org ?

It may be an idea to contact the Irish World Heritage Centre in Tyrone for some assistance, however a fee may apply. Here is their email address: info@irish-world.com

Looking farther into the info a cousin gave me there seems to be a baptism record for one of the children (Andrew Thomas Huston) from Donagheady Church of Ireland, Strabane, County Tyrone, July 26, 1826 but I don't have a copy.

I'm sure we must have corresponded before. I just don't readily recognize your userID. Anyway, 'twas I who researched all the information you referenced in your original inquiry. The Samuel HUSTON you mentioned is my gr3 grandfather.

Last year I commissioned a researcher to do some digging on my/our behalf in the records at PRONI. The results were sparse and disappointing, though I was thrilled to acquire an image of my gr2 grandfather's 1826 baptism in the Donaghedy Church of Ireland.

It appears that we are snookered by big gaps in the Church of Ireland records for that parish, and we are really hooped by the fact that the Tithe Applotment for that parish did not survive. What we're left with are 'inconclusive clues' in the 1796 Flax Growers List and a few data crumbs from the Abercorn Estate Papers.
