My Grandfather was Thomas Joseph Whalen (Phelan). Name could have been changed. I believe his father was Phelan. Thomas Joseph. He came to America July 7, 1910. The Vessel *Cymrie. Came from Queenstown Ireland. I have information that Waterford Ireland is the Birthplace. His birthdate is March 25, 1889. Town Helvic Head. Looking for any infromation on my ancestors. His mother was Mary McGrath i do not have her birthdate.

Looking at Griffiths Valuation data for Ardmore civil parish, I'm sure the surname was Whelan and not Phelan. I searched the civil birth records at www.irishgenealogy.ie with no success. I then searched Roots Ireland for a Thomas Whelan with a mother with the surname McGrath and found one possible baptismal record which is below.
Any other clues? Sibling names?
