I believe they were from County Mayo and came to the US prior to 1860 and first settled in Kentucky and then moved on to the Wexford, Allamakee County, Iowa where they remained throughout their life.
Patrick Joyce (abt 1808 in Ireland - Oct 21 1895)
Catherine Cusack (about 1814 to 1897)
they were married in Ireland and all but of their children were born in Ireland
Children:
Edward Joyce - aug 1842, Ireland
Margaret Joyce - abt 1843, Ireland
Patrick Joyce - Mar 17 1845, Ireland
Thomas F. Joyce - about 1847, Ireland
James Joyce - abt 1849, Ireland
John Austin Joyce - Feb 10, 1859 - Dec 10, 1946 - born in Kentucky, USA
I have some writings from a 2nd cousin that did some research back in the 1980s and he found about 200 Joyce families in County Mayo and 45 Cusack families but that was about it.

hi,
There are no official records in Ireland for Catholics before 1864, or for other faiths before the late 1850s.
There are Church records which are older, but you would need to know which Parish they were from.
There are some research sources mentioned on Mayos Library website...
http://www.mayolibrary.ie/en/Genealogy/
One resource states it has "Birth/Baptism and Marriages and Death records from 1850 approx. to 1900." - but it charges for the service.
There was only 1 family named CUSSACK in Galway in the Townland of Cloonliffen, when the 1901 Census was taken.
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Mayo/Ballinrobe/Cloonl…
There were over 1000 people with the surname Joyce living in Mayo in 1901, none of them lived in Cloonliffen.
You should post your enquiry on the Mayo board, maybe there were Joyces living in a nearby Townland ??
This is the Galway board, and I do not know anything about Townlands in Mayo.
Try Googling "genealogy + mailing list + mayo + joyce" to see if there are any relevant mailing lists you can join.
The History of the County of Mayo
Anglo-Norman families such as Burke, Gibbons, Staunton , Prendergast, Morris, Joyce, Walsh, Barrett, Lynott, Costello, Padden and Price were introduced.....

This looks like your family in 1870 living in Iowa.

I ordered the MEDIUM for my seven year old son (who is on the smaller side). This fit him great! Its a bit big for him still. But thats ok. It will last for awhile.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of this. With costumes its always very this cheap material. This is not. The helmet is a bit heavy (durable) and the pants are thick. I will definitely be buying this again when needed
