Hello,
My ancestors, Maurice Sheehan & his wife Anne Byrne(s) and John Ryan & his wife Mary Byrne(s), lived in the area of Kilanerin Parish in the early 1800s. I was able to find birth records for one child of the Sheehan family (Moses, born 1807) and a set of twins born to the Ryan family (Denis and Patrick, born in 1804) registered in that parish. Both families emmigrated to Ontario Canada between 1815 and 1817. The Sheehan family's last name became Shane when they moved to Canada.
For some reason Kilanerin Parish isn't provided as an option here, so I have registered for the nearby parish of Inch, Gorey. If anyone has any information on these families I would really appreciate it!

Kilanerin is a RC parish rather than a civil parish which probably explains why it was not included on the list of Wexford parishes. http://www.ferns.ie/kilanerin/
There are variant spellings for the village--Killinierin is another spellling.
Posting in Inch (Gorey barony) was the correct parish.
By the way, supposedly records for Kilanerin RC parish do not start until 1852 (according to my reference book) so finding records in 1804 and 1807 is a good find.

Thank you for the reply Roger, and for pointing out that RC parishes aren't included. I didn't read the search page carefully enough. Yes, I was thrilled to find the records I did! I had to pay for a subscription with rootsireland but it was worth it to find the first evidence of where in Wexford the ancestors came from.
From what I can tell, the Byrnes had probably lived in the Inch area for some time as the name seems to be very common there. However I suspect the Sheehans (aka Shanes) were relative newcomers. I wonder if any Sheehans other than Maurice lived in the area at the time?
