Hello,
My ancestor William Jones (b 1789) married to Charlotte Stacey (b1787) emigrated to Ontario Canada around 1819. They were married in Ontario in 1821.
Records show they were both from Wexford, William specifically from Killinick.
Once in Canada, their son Samuel Ayres Jones married Margaret Johnston who was born in Fermanagh.
I am a direct decendant (5th generation) of William Jones.
I was born Cinthia Margaret Jones in Quesnel, BC Canada in 1957
I am looking to find more information and history on William Jones and Charlotte Stacey.
Hoping to trace back the Jones family tree even further into the past.
My father proudly used to say... We are the Irish Jones's, not Welsh.
Thanks
Cindy

Dear Cindy
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out and apologies for the delay in replying to your message.
As you can see from the link below, Killinick is a Civil Parishin Co. Wexford:
Records for the corresponding Roman Catholic Parish of Moyglass begin in 1813. As this is the case, there will be no RC church records for William?s baptism.
Despite this you could search the Tithe Applotment and Griffith?s Valuation for reference to the Jones? in that area during that time. Do you believe the family were Roman Catholic? Records for the Church of Ireland begin in 1804 which is also too late for a baptism record.
Have you tried searching Ancestry.com for any mention of your ancestor?s name in member family trees or messages?
Please let us know if you manage to find out any more about the family. I assume you have also tried the passenger lists?
Best wishes
Clare Doyle

Dear Cindy,
I assume you are still around.
I also assume your Jones are Cof Ireland?
Can you connect them to Ballybrennan big or little?
There are Jones in the Killinick parish records that if you do a search will come up.
Also the Ballybrennan estate had its own cemetery and these are also available.
If you can connect to any of this or anyone else interested I have photos of all the jones burials from there.
Richard Jones my 4th great grandfather buried with many of his family at Ballybrennan
3 Williams in the family but none yours but I could imagine your William being a nephew of my original Richard.

Dear Cindy,
I am in contact with your 2nd cousin who has your William Jones living at Ballybrennan Little while my Richard Jones lived next door at Ballybrennan big. May be they were brothers. My family continued to hold the lease on Ballybrennan for at least 100 years after William left. Hoping the lease agreement will come to light one day so i can get further back. I have a copy of Richard's eldest son William's will confirming the passing down of the lease hold in through the family and many family members.
Hope you get this message

Hi Laurence Doyle of Orchard park12
is "the past" a history magazine? What area might it cover?
Is it avalable on line? would there be a link to it? Google did not find it for me!
With a lot of help I now can follow my Jones line back to 1734 at Ballybrennan.
it is very scatchy and anything I can add to my research would be good
The wexford port has resently released an e brouchure on the delelopement of the port and slobes and it had several references to the family and building their own cannal and port on their farm.
part of the port is still standing and I was luck enough to be shown it by the current owner.
I am also slowly finding information from the wexford library as it comes on line.- very helpful staff.
