I am trying to find information about the birth, where & when, of my great uncle Martin Lannon. The only records I have been able to find so far are from the 1901 & 1911 censuses and his army service during the first world war. He was killed on 7th August 1917 in Ypres. With the information from these sources he could have been born anytime from 1897-1899.
1901 census shows him living in Arnestown and 1911 census in Dunganstown.
I have searched the Ancestry site and have tried to find him on the IrishGenealogy.ie site, using various spellings of the surname, with no luck
A cousin had a photo of her father at school in Ballykelly in 1910 (attached). In that photo is a Martin Lannon, potentially him, but appears younger than the age I have for him with the above years.
Anybody out there able to point me in the direction of any online resources to continue my search or know if the school records are available anywhere? I am planning on returning to New Ross as soon as I am able to travel again and so if there are any places I should visit that might provide information please let me know.

Hi Sean,
You should contact the Secretary, St. Mary's and St. Michael's church in New Ross to ascertain if the school is still in operation. Email: info@newrossparish.ie. From checking the web, it appears that it is! The principal will be able to tell you if the records for 1890-1900 are in the school. If not, you will need to make arrangements with the National Archives - www.nationalarchives.ie in Dublin. If you are unable to view the records yourself, you will need to engage a researcher. They will advise you.
Due to Covid19 virus it is going to be a slow process.
