Hi,
I am looking for Robert Street in New Ross.
My ancestor MICHAEL NOWLAN was a Baker and leased lot number 16 from James Cockle in 1853 which was a house and yard (according to Griffiths Valuation).
I would be interested to find out if it is possible to locate this area in New Ross now?
Many thanks

Sue:
Welcome to Ireland Reaching Out!
Do you have access to Google Maps? Robert St. is between South St. and Michael St. not far from the church of St. Mary and Michael.

Hi there, I find this site a bit confusing, so forgive me if I am in the wrong spot for this. I am looking for information on my ancestor Robert McNamara, who was born in New Ross, County Wexford, Ireland in about 1800. He left Ireland as a young man and came to Canada( possibly through the US). He married in Halifax , Nova Scotia, Canada in 1828. I would like to know who is parents were, if he had siblings who stayed in New Ross, what ship he cane over on, and find out why he decided to come to Canada. There has been speculation over whether he was in the British military, or perhaps he was part if the ‘white boys’ . My understanding is that his family was Methodist.Any information would be greatly appreciated. Lori van der Velden, Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
