Hello, I am searching for any information available on my great grandmother Ellen Carroll. She was born October 19, 1857 in New Ross Wexford Ireland. Her spouse was James McCauley who was born August 18, 1856 . They were married in 1881. Thank You. Debbie Adams

    Ellen Carroll was born before civil registration started in 1864. Roots Ireland has very few church records for Co. Wexford and the New Ross records are not available. You may want to contact the church directly to see if they can assist.

    Can you clarify if Ellen and James were married in Ireland? I looked for a record in the New Ross registration district. I found an 1881 civil marriage index record for a marriage for an Ellen Carroll but there were 4 possible spouses named but not a James McCauley.
