Hi,
Looking for information on Frank Cullen and Kate Murphy Cullen. Both are in the 1901 census. Frank appears alone in the 1911. They lived in Tigroney West. Frank mined in the area. They had 11 children. Marion, the younges,t was born in 1875. A granddaughter Delia Connelly lived with Frank and Kate.
Someone told me that a Red Cullen lived in the area to whom I am related.
Thanks for any help.
Paul

Hi Paul
Here's the marriage record from rootsireland but it has very little info!
Date of Marriage:25-Oct-1858Parish / District:AVOCA

Roman CatholicThere are 3 BAPTISM records on rootsireland for Frank / Francis Cullen around 1833 (1901 - 68); the census was taken on March 31 so he would need to have been baptised early 1833 or after March 1834. I'll post all 3:

Paul:
I checked the civil death index records and it appears that Catherine died in either the first or second quarter of 1904. See the two index records below.

Col,
Thank you so very much. I'm digging to find out which date. I think Frank's father was probably a John since Frank had two sons named John. One died as a baby; the other came to the U.S. in 1882 and was my gggf. Every generation since has had Johns and Franks.
Roger,
I'm so grateful for your help. But I'll have to think if I can get more info to determine which Catherine.
Gentlemen, I really can't thank you enough for your help with this. If I can push the family back one generation each year, I'm happy. You've helped me do that. Thank you again.

For what is Biddy a nickname? Thanks, Paul

Paul:
Biddy is a nickname for Bridget. Other names are Bride, Bridie and Delia.
Since you posted in late, December 2015, the Irish government has placed the images of civil records online for free access at www.irishgenealogy.ie You will need to sign-in to see the records. The second one is your Catherine.

Roger, Thank you once again for your help. Col sent me the info on Frank Cullen's parents (above). Frank's father John married a Biddy. And I stumbled on John's baptismal record in the Avoca parish in 1810. His father was John and his mother was Brigetta, Latin for Bridgid, I think. I may have the wrong John Cullen. I usually try to confirm each source before I believe it. Seems singular to me to have a mother and grandmother by the same name, but Frank's father and gf both were named John, so I guess it's possible. Thank you for the link. Roger, I can't tell you how much I appreciate your help. Paul
