Hi - anyone know if there are any photographs/information on the excavations that went on around Lough Gur in 1934? My Great Grandfather (Paddy O'Rourke) worked down there. There was one picture in one of the Lough Gur journals, but not great quality, so I was hoping there's more out there somewhere!
Thanks.

Hi Pat
As part of this project we are asking people to root out their old photos and pass them onto us and if we do find any I will certainly let you know. If you have any old photos yourself of people in and around Lough Gur I would be really grateful if you could scan and email them to me at ainebar@gmail.com and we will add them to the collection.
Many thanks

Pat,
I have tried to embed the photo in the above comment box . it hasnt worked.
So here is a weblink instead, http://www.keepandshare.com/photo/401161/ireland-xo-folder&vo=l
If it doesnt work, just copy the above link and google it.
Its a scan of a poor copy only, due to the paper quailty( non glossy) of the orginal publication. "Rambling through Knockainey" 1988 ?
Pat Rourke is third from left in the back row. Professor O'Riordan is sitting sideways to the camera.
Hope this helps to identify owners of the orginal set of photos ?
Regards
Mike

I know that this is a very old thread but just in case, here's a photo of men at the excavation along with their names.
My interest lies with Ned Conway (pictured), his father John Conway and Maura Stundon, housekeeper.
