I believe I have narrowed down my ancestor, but I am not 100% sure which person he is. Below is the information I have recently gathered from the Griffith's Valuation. If anyone can confirm this for me, that would be much appreciated!
My information:
Lawrence Connaughton
born: abt 1800, Ireland
Married: Missy/Mary Quinn (or variation of name)
Child: Ellen Connaughton, b. 1828, Kinvara, Galway, Ireland. Married Patrick Leonard and immigrated to America around 1850.
There are Three Lawrence Connaughton's in the Griffith's Valuation:
1. Lawrence Connaughton, Tawnagh, Galway.
2. Law. Connaughton, Rinneen, Galway.
3. Law. Connaughton, Mountscribe, Galway.

Do you know much about their emigration? The dates, the reasonwhy they left, who they may have travelled with?..etc..Generally more information was given atthe port of arrival rather than the port of departure. If you knew which city they arrived at (e.g.Liverpool, New York, etc.), this could be a good place to find more information. -And perhaps evenfind out an exact place of origin.
