Timothy Mulvihill and Johanna Connor

You seem to have already found baptisal records for the Mulvihills. There are Roman Catholic church records available for the diocese of Moyvane (Murher), but these only date from 1855 for baptismal and marriage records.

Civil registration records are available from the General Register Office (GRO). These start from 1864 however. You can access the website here: http://www.groireland.ie/research.htm

You could also try checking the land records called the Tithe Applotment Books (1823-38) or the later Griffith's Valuation (1848-64). Have you tried checking the Ellis Island records (www.ellisisland.org) or the Castle Garden records (www.castlegarden.org)? Generally, more information was given at the port of arrival rather than the port of departure. If you knew which city they arrived at, this could be a good place to find more information, and perhaps even find out an exact place of origin.

Have you checked the baptismal and marriage records of Timothy's children? Did they give you any additonal information?

The church records for Moyvane begin in about 1830. Prior to that people born in Moyvane were baptised in Listowel.

You say you have found baptismal records for five of the children. I presume you got these on the Irish Genealogy site. I had a quick look myself and found these five:

Thomas 1820

Catherine 1823

Johanna 1833

Timothy 1836

Michael 1840

It may still be possible that the records for the other children exist. There are many errors in the Irish Genealogy site. In any case it seems that these Mulvihills were resident in Kilbaha, Moyvane before emigrating to USA.

Thomas - I have a will for Michael Mulvihill's grandson Clifford Balch in Kansas City.  There were 7 children named in the will with their descendants.  Thomas the oldest son was not listed, but with the 5 in Ireland and 7 in the will - I found a total of 8 children.

Thomas and his family left Kansas City early (1880's)  but I have information on the rest of the family.  My husband is a descendant of John Mulvihill born in 1827.  Timothy - their father came to Kansas City and is buried in St. Mary's Cemetery with most of his children.
