I am currently researching my Marshall ancestors who came to the US from Tarbert. My 2nd gr grandfather was Robert Marshall, baptised in Kilnaughtin parish in 1838. He and several brothers emigrated, and one brother stayed in Ireland. Their parents were William & Margaret Barrett from Glin.

Hi
Remember to post as much information as you can regarding the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
Do you know much about their emigration? Dates, the reason why they left, etc.? Generally more information was given at the port of arrival rather than the port of departure. If you knew which city they arrived at (e.g. Liverpool), this could be a good place to find more information.
Some sites that may be of use to you are:

I am Robert Orpheus Marshall, son of Edward Marshall, grandson of Robert John Marshall, and great grandson of Robert Marshall, born in Tarbert in 1838, died Jan 16, 1905 in New York, USA. I’d like to find out where he lived and where he is buried. I have few years left to travel, and hope to visit in 2025. I live in Pennsylvania, USA. I would like to hear from any of the huge Marshall clan.
Regards,Bob
