James Joseph Healy born about 1877. Parents are listed as Martin Healy & Mary Walsh (possibly Welsh?) They came to Elizabeth New Jersey about 1882. James had a sister named Margaret but I'm not sure if she was born in Ireland or New Jersey. James also had a cousin named James Edward Carroll but I'm not sure which side he is related from. Looking for any info on Martin & Mary, thank you.

Hi,
Thank you for your message.
Have you tried looking in Church records for information on Martin and Mary?
Most Catholic records are held locally. You could try writing to the parish priest for possible assistance. One website which may be useful is the irishtimes where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. For Castlecomer Roman Catholic parish follow this link:
You may also want to check the Roman Catholic parish of Clough, as part of the Castlecomer civil parish is found here.
(Roman Catholic and Civil parishes can sometimes be confusing. Follow this link to a good website that offers clarification: http://www.irish-genealogy-toolkit.com/Irish-land-divisions.html)
For Church of Ireland records check http://www.ireland.anglican.org/index.php?do=information&id=63
You could also check in Griffith's Valaution. This is a property valuation survey that was carried out between 1848-1864. You can check this here:

You could also check the 1901 and 1911 census records for any family that may have remained in Ireland.

Some other websites which may be helpful are:
The National Archives of Ireland http://www.nationalarchives.ie/genealogy1/genealogy-records/introduction/
The National Library of Ireland http://www.nli.ie/en/family-history-introduction.aspx
US National Archives/Immigration info: http://www.archives.gov/research/immigration/
Family Search: https://familysearch.org/
Genealogy Links: http://www.genealogylinks.net/uk/ireland/kilkenny/index.html
I hope that this is helpful. Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
Kind regards,
