Researching Robert McCarthy (1812-1870) and his wife Elizabeth Neil (1819-1881). Robert was keeper of the lock on the Tralee canal, then Harbour Master of Tralee from about 1858 to 1870. His sons Joseph and Robert were Harbour Masters after him. Daughters Mary Jane and Henrietta/Harriett went to Montreal, Canada. Robert died in the townland of Lohercannan--not sure if he was from there.
