I have limited information on my great, great, great grandfather. I know that he was born in County Dublin, but do not know what Parish he was from. He was Roman Catholic and had at least 1 youger brother named John who was born about 1837. Thomas and John immigrated to Canada and settled in the Cobourg, Ontario as farmers. I do not know the year they came to Canada, but we think they were in Canada as early as 1850. I also do not know if they came with other family members or by themselves. I think that they arrived at the port of Quebec, Canada. There are very limited records on ship lisitings prior to the 1860's for immigrants arriving in Canada., so there is no record that I am aware of. Thomas married Eliza Mcguire in the cobourg,Ontario area in 1855. She was also from Ireland, but I do not what part of the country she came from.. They had 11 children. I believe the eldest was named James, leading me to believe, he was named after Thomas's father., who may have been named James Wade. Their next born was Mary. I am hoping this sounds familiar to someone. Thank you in advance.

Baldongan is about 2 miles from Skerries. The modern name of the parish is Skerries. The old name was Holmpatrick. There is an early 18th Century Longfield map in the National Library, Kildare St. Dublin. Map 27 gives the tenants of Ballcunny which borders Melverton and Baldongan. A Richard Maguire was one of the tenants listed. It also shows his holding of land. There is a castle in Baldongan (Baldungan). It has a burial ground with a few very old headstones. It might be worth your while to check these. The Civil district is either North Dublin or Balrothery. The church records go back quiet a bit as well.
