I would like to make contact with anyone researching or descended from Thomas Murphy and wife Honora O'Malley, married in the early 1880s, had the following children:

John b 1884

Thomas b 1886

Ellen b 1889

Patrick b 1891 (may have come to the US and settled in CA)

Bridget b 1893 came to US about 1911 settled in CA

James b 1894

Honora b 1895

Julia b 1896

Elizabeth b 1898

Margaret b 1899

Thomas was married first to Ellen O'Shea, in 1871, and had at least 4 children.

What is the name of the graveyard for the townland of Reennanallagane? Is there an online burial listing somewhere?

Kind regards,

Mary

  • Mary:

You may want to check www.irishgenealogy.ie for Church records for the parish of Glenbeigh/Glencar. St James Church in Glenbeigh is kikely the church you are looking for.

    http://www.dioceseofkerry.ie/parish.php?parish=Glenbeigh

The 1901 census record for the Murphy family is below.

  • Thank you, Roger. I've used irishgenealogy.ie to find baptismal records for the children, but no luck with any burial records. I've seen the family on the 1901 census. By 1911, the only family members remaining are Patrick, living as head of household with his sisters Julia and Margaret. We need to find out what happened to the rest of the family, and I was hoping someone  would know about an online burial listing, like kerryburials.ie, but for this location, since I don't see anything on that burial site. Your hint about St. James Church is very helpful - I will pursue that further.
