Can you help me understand the census information?  How does it show Linnane with only numbers? I am not familiar with this sort of paperwork.

This is the census of 1911 for that family 10 years later.

A few things of interest ,Firstly the Irish and english statement  probably means that for the parents Irish was probably their first language.Often in Ireland at this time Irish speaking parents who could speak english  raised english only speaking children but not in this family.

Secondly you can see Denis's mark ,an x, at the bottom right corner.

Thirdly you can see they had 7 children born alive and six are still alive at that time.At the time of 1901 census there were only 5 children listed.

Fourthly you can see that 5 years has been added to Bridget's age possibly to qualify for pension purposes.

Also they have been married for 42 years

I did another search and found two names that are not on the census for of 1901.

Mary Linane born 1872.This makes sense as she is the eldest but the land would be left to the eldest boy.Also it makes it a smaller gap from marriage to first child.

Secondly there were twins born.John had a twin Patt .Pat was commonly written like that.

All the details are the same except date of birth was 01/July/1876 

Sponsor Honor Mulkerrins (Honor was usually Nora)

I also had a look for a marriage cert and found it!

Farmer 

His father was Thomas Linnane also a farmer mother not recorded

Witnesses were Pat Linane and Catherine Linane 

Bridget Corless 

Kinvera 

Farmer's daughter 

Her father was Patt Corliss 

married by Forde Francis 

Husband and wife are recorded as of age.

I have put down what the record shows the spelling was not consistent Corless and Corliss and the spelling of the areas can vary greatly.

I think this is a better match .On the list beside her name is a bridget Healy four years older than her which could be her sister Bridget with her married name?
