I am interested in finding information about Charles McMahon (11/1/1838 to 9/30/1913) and Mary Ellen Neligan (Nelligan?) (11/9/1834 to 12/16/1912). They were married on January 10, 1863 in Annascaul. The registry says that Charles was Roman Catholic and lived in Milltown. Their attendants were P. Kennedy and Honora Neligan. Had two children, Dennis Joseph McMahon, Sr born 11/1/1863 in London, Middlesex, United Kingdom, and Charles Peter McMahon born 12/25/1872 in Anderson, Iowa. They lived in York County, NE and are buried in Exeter Nebraska.
Any information that I could find about them would be much appreciated. I am going to be in County Kerry in May, 2013 and plan to do some research at that time.
Thanks in advance,
Coleen McMahon

If you can, email them prior to your departure with your information and hopefully it will be possible for someone to prepare for your visit.

McMahon, Dingle Parish. On US naturalization papers, I've just located the origin place in Kerry for my great-great grandfather, Robert McMahon, who emigrated from Dingle Parish, Kerry, in 1828-29 to Canada, entering the US in Vermont in 1829. Born about 1810, his father was Timothy, as listed on the death certificate. He was a laborer in Ipswich, Massachusetts, married to Margaret McCann of Waterford. I believe his brother, Thomas McMahan, also resided there as his father was also TImothy. I found records for Timothy and Thomas in Milltown. If you find any connections, please let me know? Kathleen
