Looking for ancestors of John O'mahony (b. circa 1827, died 1882 son of Daniel O'Mahony) and Mary O'Sullivan (b. 1830 Laharn, d. 1904, dau. of John O'Sullivan & Ellen Cahill.) They were married 1859 in Tralee and had a shop on Castle Street. There must be a connection to the larger O'Mahony clan!

Dear LithIrish, is this the family you mean?
Have you any other information?

That family are cousins of my O'Mahony family. I have an obituary from Indiana that states Ellen O'Mahony Doyle and Joseph P. O'Mahony are first cousins of James O'Mahony of Castle Street, Tralee. James' father was Charles O'Mahony born about 1812 and died Castle St. 1872. Charles married Catherine Harrington in 1846 and Mary Harrington in 1855. He had about 5 children with catherine and 11 children with Mary. I think most of his children were born at Boherbee, Tralee. In James' obituary in the Kerryman Delahunty cousins are listed
My John O'Mahony (a shopkeeper since at least 1855 on Castle St.) I assume was a brother of Charles (because of my Indiana obituary) born I believe in 1827 was the son of Daniel O'Mahony and maybe Catherine McCarthy not sure of his mother. My John married Mary O'Sullivan 6 Frb 1859 Tralee. They had 7 children and lived on Castle Street, Tralee. John died 1882, I assume buried in Tralee. Mary died 1904 but I have never found where she died or where she is buried. John's son said his father's name was John Kane O'Mahony.
Another John O'Mahony, a shoemaker, son of a John O'Mahony married Mary Anne Tangney in 1880. They also lived in Boherbee and possibly on Castle St. where Mary Anne died. John then married Margaret. I am not sure how they are related.

Have you considered searching the Tralee phone book and making some calls to see if this would help you find your living relations? The area code is 066 for Tralee.
You could start with any O' Mahony's in Castle Street and then broaden your search.
