My great grandfather Thomas Kinnane emigrated to Melbourne Australia in 1857. His marriage certificate states he was the son of Bartley(sometime recorded as Bartholomew) Kinnane and Mary Gorman. His death certificate states that he was born near Ennis County Clare. There is much confusion regarding his date of birth it could be any date between 1825 and1840. His brother Michael emigrated to Victoria in 1855.

There are currently quite a few people resident in and around Ennis today with the surname and also if you do Google search for Kinnane 1901 census example County Clare 1901 Census - Surname Index: Kinnane there are a lot of results there.
You may be aware of it but the 1901 and 1911 census returns were really the only ones fully available to the public.
There are also Gorman's living in Ennis some I know personally and can if you wish pass on your request for info.
