HI Brid,
Thank you so much for your efforts to try and find my gggrandparents, Denis Maloney and Margaret Murray in County Clare.
Needless to say I am very anxious to hear if you have any luck in finding a connection.
I wish I had more information to give you. I am constantly searching for answers.
Please stay in touch and I sincerely appreciate all your efforts.

Hi Jane,
I have been away for the last 2 weeks so vey little done. See the following website with a list of Maloneys who emmigrated to the US from Clare. There are email links for contact for each family attached. I have sent an email to the Mitlown Malbay contact listed with your search query to see if any bells ring. His Maloneys emigrated in 1908 though so it is a long shot. Perhaps you may like to contact others as this might narrow down the location of your ancestors, if they were from Clare. http://www.connorsgenealogy.net/Clare/claresurnamesLtoR.html
Once the place of origin can be established i am sure we can get places then.
The main Moloney and Murray families found in the Kilfarboy area are in the area known as Annagh which contains a number of town lands all adjacent too each other. Have a look at the following townland and see if anything rings a bell.
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Clare/Annagh/
There are also Moloneys and Murrays to be found in Griffiths valuations in East Clare around Bodyke and O Callaghans Mills.
Tithes and Applotments 1823-37
Denis Moloney Cloneross Kilofin
1901 census

This Margaret could fit in with the age profile of your Denis wife.
Denis Moloney Carhugar Ogonnelloe
1901 Census
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Clare/O_Gonnelloe/Carr…
Denis Moloney Deemaheen Killone
I think this may be them in 1901
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Clare/Killone/Kilmore/…
Denis Moloney Rathfoldenmore Kilnasoolagh
I think Kilnasoolagh was integrated into Ennis in later census and there are many in the Ennis area in 1901 but no Denis. Look at this one - I think it may be the new name for Kilnasoolagh
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Clare/Corlea/Mungarree…
Next neighbouring townland has Murrays
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Clare/Corlea/Poulatrum…
I suggest you contact the parish office at Flagmount or Scarriff church and see if they have a record of a Peter Moloney born July 1st 1845 with parents Denis and Margaret Murray. If you need to look it up, this is an area near Lough Graney in East Clare.
Another possibility but not a high liklihood
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Clare/Killilagh/Luogh_…
This is a strong contender as the area is a finshing area in North Clare which has a large contengent of Moloneys and would use Galway as the nearest shopping town etc. Perhaps he married secondly as the wife's name is Ann.
Good luck
Brid
I will keep my eye out on the Kilfarboy records for a Denis and Margaret - no luck so far.

Hi Jane,
Griffiths Valuation for Galway 1855 - There are two Denis Moloney/Mollowney
Mullowney Denis Cahercon Killinny Galway
No Mullowneys left in Chercon in 1901 census (Listed under Kinvara)
This is on the borders of Clare and Galway
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Galway/Kinvarra/Caherc…
Some Moloneys listed in Gort in 1901
Mollony Dennis Knockavilla Killoscobe Galway
and the good news is that there are Moloneys there is 1901 http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Galway/Mount_Hazel/Kno…
also in 1911 http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Galway/Mounthazel/Knoc…
I think this place in near Melow in Galway (now part of the city).
You should try to contact the Births marriages and deaths in Galway city with the information that you have and see if either of these two Deinis Moloneys fits the bill. Good luck.

Hi Jane,
The Denis Moloney fro Caherogan is listed as married to and Honor Kaven with children John, Margaret, James, Norry and Pat all born between 1832-1849. No Peter or Mary. Lokks like this is not your family. I hope to Galway results are more promising.

Hi Jane,
I was wondering if you had any luck with the two Galway possibilities for your Denis Moloney? I hope you are well.
