Hello- I'm searching for information on my Mother's family. Her Nana, Nora Fitzgerald, was from Dingle. She sailed to the US in 1892. She was 16 yrs old. Her birthday is believed to be October 19th, 1877. It is the family story that Nora's mother died when she was very young. Her father was a steeplechase jockey. He put Nora into a convent, from which, upon his death while riding a race, she ran away. She came through Ellis Island onboard the TEUTONIC. Quite possibly she traveled with a Eugene Begley (23 yrs old) of Dingle, also on the same passenger list and on the line before her name. Both were destined for New York City.
She, Nora, married George Howe after arriving in NY. She had 3 children: George Howe Jr., Gladys Marie, and another daughter. Gladys Marie Howe was my mother's mom. My mother's name is Adelaide Schroeder Wall is 92 yrs old. She is still alive and has a great desire to leave us with more info on her family. If you can help me, it would be greatly appreciated.

You may want to look at http://www.familysearch.org for birth index records. I found two for 1877 in the Dingle registration district. To get a copy of either record, you have to write to the GRO www.groireland.ie Fill out their form and provide the volume and page number.

You could try this page.
halfway down there is a Hanora Fitzgerald, born on Jul 2nd 1877 but if you know her fathers or mothers name you can put that in to help narrow your search, if you know these names I would search again without the year and I would also leave the location empty as there are alot of parishes in the Dingle area.
