Can you provide some dates for Eliza and Thomas in order to allow a volunteer to see if they can assist. Since Thomas was your ggg grandfather , I assume you are going back to the early 1800s.

All this info I got from different web sites for Ireland

Thomas McMahon - DOB - approx 1789.born in Meath, Dublin....death - 1869 age 80 in Tralee, Ireland

I believe he married a Margaret McNamara, but not too sure

Their daughter Eliza McMaghon - DOB - 1829 - death - Oct 8, 1878 in Queensland she married William Kirkwood DOB - 1816, he may have died at the age of 76 1894 in Magherafelt

Eliza has a brother Patrick, he married Susan MacGuire in Galloon, he died in 1922, is

buried in Galloon Cemetary

Eliza &  William were married on Dec 22,1851 in Galloon, Co of Ferm

Children -

Sarah Kirkwood - DOB June 12,1864 in Scotstown, Co of Monaghan

Baby boy - DOB - June 1,1866 in Scotstown, CO of Monaghan

Sophia Kirkwood - DOB - April 11,1869 in Scotstown, Co of Monaghan

William Kirkwood - DOB - Feb 8, 1872 in Scotstown, Co of Monaghan

Sarah (ggmother) married Thos Briggs(ggfather) DOB - Oct,31,1862, death - May 29,1925, and to

find out he is buried in a cemetary 5 klm's from me was quite shocking, he was widowed at time of death when and where they married in Ireland ?, they had one daughter born in Co of Monaghan

May 5,1883-84 named Sarah shortly thereafter left Ireland on a ship arriving in Montreal, PQ, where

they had 4 more children before moving to New Brunswick, where they had 2 more children, the last

born son Allan is my grandfather - Died in 1957 2 years before I was born, I hear he was quite a ball player, he was drafted by a major USA baseball team, but had to decline to marry my grandmother who was with child...........

So this is what I have so far, it's very time consuming, but soooooooo interesting,

thankyou to whom ever is able to further my family search

I found two death index records ( below) at www.familysearch.org  A death index record for Thomas in 1869 and a death index record for William Kirkwood in 1892. To get copies of these records, you would have to contact the GRO www.groireland.ie  fill out there form, provide the quarter/year of death ( or year in Thomas' case) registration district and the volume and page numbers. Costs around 4 euros each.
