Hi, I am a Great, Great Granddaughter of John Joseph Quilter who was born in abt 1803 in Co. Kerry, Ireland somewhere and lived in Ballyreehan until his trial in Tralee in 1824 for robbery. I have been in communication with Billy Quilter (Gortinare) and he has been seeking some information for me as well. His dad Jacques says that John Joseph was not born in Ballyreehan but came there later. We believe he had a younger brother Francis who married a Mary Walsh and they were living in Listowel. I have seen some documentation from the Tithe plotting referring to a John Quilter living on a John Hewson Esq property. I'm hoping someone may be able to assist in locating him prior to his departure for Australia. Unfortunately the documents from that time period were destroyed by fire. I can't find records for his trial either. is there a location to find these??? Hope you can help Cheers Leanne Shaw
