Seeking John Joseph Quilter origins

are these Quilters related to you? I notice that John J was born circa 1840.

I believe that Kerry Library have only one book of court records from a much later period.

Hi Martine,

Thank you for your assistance :) John Joseph was born in 1803/04, right in the middle of the time when the records were burned in Tralee :( I have seen the records you have linked too but John J was shipped to Australia in 1825 on Sir Godfery Webster via the Cove of Cork on July 11 1825. The hunt still continues....

Dear Leanne, I am thinking that though these records are later that they might be of JJ's family? Because of his birth date and records being slim around that time, we might have to go sideways and come forward to find out more about JJ.

Dear Leanne, I struck gold when I entered Francis and Mary Walsh, not in Listowel but in Lixnaw. Maybe they moved to Listowel after the births of these children.

Dear Leanne,

I spoke to a lady who grew up in Ballyreehan (1940's). Her family the Byrne's were neighbours to John Joe and Paud Quilter whose father was William. Mrs. Byrne used to bring bread to John Joe and Paud. And they would listen to His Master's Voice together.

There was also a Frank Quilter who lived nearby whose wife was Johanna. They had no children. The landlord was Kitchener and he lived in Crotta. When Kitchener was gone the Galvin's bought his house.

There were also Quilter's living in Ballyhenessy (Jeremiah and Johnny).

She reckons that your John Joseph is related to John Joe and Paud whose father was William but she is not quite sure how.

Thank you for your persistence in looking for me. Given lots of records were destroyed over time word of mouth is the best way to find out information before its gone forever. 

I will look into the John Joe and Paud link.
