Hi,
Thank you very much for your message.
Do you have any more information on the family that you can share? Information such as:
- Names
- Important dates to help establish a timeframe eg. birth/marriage/death dates
- Religious denomination
- Did they emigrate? If so what do you know about their emigration?
- Occupations
Remember to post as much information as you can with regard to the people you are researching. The more information you post, the more likely it is that one of our volunteers will be able to advise or assist you. Also include information concerning which sources you may have already used so others may further your search.
Kind regards,

In Doonmoon in the 1901 and 1911 census. Just looking for Ellen Sheedy before 1901 and the parents of Ellen Sheedy and if she had any brothers or sisters.
Can you help?

Hi Maura,
Thanks for getting back to me.
If Ellen was born after 1864, her birth would have been registered with the General Register?s Office so you should try contacting them to see if you can get a copy of it. Here are their contact details:

You could also try looking at birth records in the local parish church. Most Catholic records are held locally so you may need to write to the local parish priest for possible assistance. One website that you may find useful is the Irish Times where they give an overview of what records are available in specific parishes. It also shows you where copies of the records are available. For Knocklong parish, follow this link:
As you can see Limerick Genealogy have copies available. if you would like to contact them here is their email, however a fee may apply: research@limerickgenealogy.com
I hope this is helpful.
All the best,
Emma
