searching for Richard Kingston & Maggie Donohue of Faunmore 1911-?

I located the 1901 census record for Richard and Margaret. At that time as you know, they were living in Dromdaleague civil parish which is part of the Skibbereen registration district. It looks like Jeremiah was born around June 1900. I looked at www.familysearch.org and located three marriage index records in the January-March 1899 quarter in the Skibbereen district for a Richard Kingston. I could not find a related record for Margaret. All three records were in Volume 5 for that quarter on pages 441, 445 and 448. You can contact the GRO www.groireland.ie  fill out their form and give them the pertinent info i.e. Skibbereen district, January-March 1899 quarter and the three page numbers. I have a hunch that 445 is correct. Tell them you only want a record if the marriage is for Richard Kingston and Margaret Donoghue. If they find the correct record, it costs around 4 euros. The marriage record will show the names of the fathers of the bride and groom and where they were living when married.

Thank you!! I can't believe how fast you could do that! I had seen the 1901 but was stymied since I could not find a Kingston and Donohue combo on line... I had some idea about GRO, but no idea what to do with no further info - your info makes so much sense! I was thinking of going to Skibbereen tmrw/Mon - do you think that would be any help? I have spoken to two men who live in Kilcrohane and know the area very well but they believe that none of the Kingston family live in the area now. I will send you a private message with a contact number for one of them who is willing to show you the homeplace and remembers some of the family quite well. 

I will try and find out more about where they came from but I think Rodger's advice is the best route for now.

I quess you are here for the Kingston gathering in Drimoleague ? Magela has done great work there and i hope it is agreat sucess.

I don't think the records are in Skibbereen so I would wait for using the post with GRO. The GRO is actually located in Roscommon town, Co. Roscommon.

I think there was a problem with the marriage index records which is why finding the index record is difficult. When I searched for a Margaret Donohue on www.findmypast.ie (subscription site), I found the 1899 marriage index record for Margaret but it did not list Richard  as her husband but the page number for recordation (445) was the same as one of the three Richard Kingston index records.
