The Martin family (John & Mary, nee King) lived in Cole Alley and Tripoli between 1853 & 1866 before moving to Brownstown, Kildare. Their children born whilst living in Dublin were Bridget 1853, Michael 1855, John 1857 (my grandfather) Partick 1860, Mary Ann 1862 & Bridget 1866. All were baptised at St Catherine's RC church Meath St expect Bridget in 1853 who was baptised at St Nicholas. John Martin was a dealer and I am attempting to trace what became of the family after moving from Dublin to Browstown. My grandfather moved to Australia and married my grandmother in Coonabaraban, NSW in October 1894.

Hi Martin,
Thank you very much for your message. I hope that someone with information on the family makes a connection with you and helps you to further your research.
In the meantime have you tried looking for the family in the 1901/1911 census records? If not, you can do so here:
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/
Also, Civil registration began in Ireland in 1864 so any births, deaths or marriages in the family after this date would be recorded in these records. Civil records are available from the General Register?s Office. Here is their website:

You can search the indexes to these records up to 1958 online at:
