I have traced my family back to Ireland and have now hit a road block. What i do know (or think i know) is that Michael Dwyer (B:1800 D:1849) immigrated to Canada in 1849 with his wife Winnifred Cahill (B:1798 D:1878) and their son John Dwyer (B:1834 D:1912). I have found tidbits off the internet and it looks like Dwyer was a fairly promient name in Kilfeacle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Michael,
There are 2 baptisms of Michael Dwyer born 1800 in Tipperary on www.rootsireland.ie/
One is from North Tipp & the other South; Kilfeacle is not on the list of parishes for either but South would be the better bet. roots is a pay site so it will cost a few $ to get the record but it will give you the parents' names and the parish.
I couldn't find the marriage to Winifred or John's birth on roots.
The Tithe Applotments which are free to search has 1 Dwyer in Kilfeacle Tipperary - Lawrence - parish is Templenoe. I rechecked the roots parish list for north & south Tipp but neither has Templenoe either!
Griffiths Valuation (also freely available) has 24 Dwyers in Kilfeacle Tipperary South Riding.
Several public member trees on ancestry have Michael's parents as William Dwyer and Ellen Allen but roots does not have that record.

Hello -
Did you ever find any addtional information about Michael and Winnifred (Cahill) Dwyer? I am a descendent of that family as well (through John's brother Timothy). I've never been able to verify their parents' names, their marriage, or the childrens' births in Ireland. I did join roots for a month (expensive!) but have found nothing more on these partiuclar Dwyers. I am not even sure that their parish information has ever been uploaded to the internet. When we were in Ireland we searched in Tipperary, and also at the National Archives and found nothing. We went out to the parish church (Golden/Kilfeacle) and no one was there so couldn't ask any questions. I keep hoping I'll find more information.
Thanks,
Alexsandra
