Cornelius Cleary, born circa 1802 left Ireland for Credit River, in Minnesota about 1853-1854. I am looking for someone withwhich to correspond regarding the ancestrial line between Cornelius Cleary of Clondegad Parish, County Clare and Tighearnach ua Cleirigh, (died 952 a King of Ui Fiachrach Aidne of Connacht). Tighernach was the son of Mael Fabhaill mac Cleireach, died 887 and also a King of Ui Fiachrach Aidne of Connacht. All are direct descendents of Guaire Aidne mac Colmain, died 663 a King of Connacht. Guaire's home territory was near Gort and he also had a fort on the current site of Dunguaire Castle.
Anyone who may have information, full or partial, can contact me at the following email address: finehire2@aol.com
Also, any Cleary family in the area of Clondegad Parish of County Clare is welcome to contact me.
My wife and I visited the Clondegad graveyard in October 2013 and noticed some recent Cleary family headstones.
Sincerely,

Hi - Thank you for your message. The Clare County Library is an excellent resource for Irish family history/genealogy. You can find their site here: http://www.clarelibrary.ie/eolas/coclare/genealogy/ocleary_family.htm

Hi Richard
I am pretty sure Cornelius Cleary lived at a Townland called Cloonulla in the parish of KILLADYSERT. His name appears in Griffith valuation with other Cleary family members that match the names of his sons.
My grandmother was a Cleary and I have DNA matches with people that have Cleary ancestors from this part of Clare including this Cornelius Cleary.
I hope this helps.
