Hello, I am searching for my Irish Ancestors from the townland of Fountain Hill, town of Clifden, in County Galway Ireland. My great great grandparents were Michael Heanie (Heanue) and Anne McDonagh Heaney from the townland of Fountain Hill, in the parish of Clifden, in County Galway. Michael was a laborer. Anne was born around 1837 in teh Kilcummin Ought Parish District, but have no record of where Michael was born.
Anne McDonagh and Michael Heanie were married around 1858 in the Catholic Parish of Clifden. They had 3 children, all baptised in the Clifden RC parish, including:
Mary Heaney, born 27-5-1859, sponsors were Patrcik McDonagh and Mary Henue (Heaney)
John Heaney, born 9-4-1861, sponsors were Fancis Mullin and Margaret Corbett
Patrcik Heaney, born 07-04-1864, sponsors were Thomas and Anne Courcy
They left Ireland around 1869 and settled inSteubenville, Jefferson County Ohio where they were listed in the 1870 census.
